SAFETY

When contractors work for Lidköping Energi AB, they not only represent their company but also us as the client. Through his way of acting and carrying out his tasks, the entrepreneur must contribute to creating a safe and secure environment.

This happens, among other things, through adherence to these safety regulations, as well as by taking into account those who operate within Lidköping Energi.

Contractors are obliged to:
• follow Safety regulations for contractors
• inform all their staff about these.
• sign via form or form that you have taken note of the safety rules

Gathering area: parking lot outside of the main entrance.

Fire- and evacuation alarm

Fire alarm: intermittent sound
Evacuation alarm: persistent sound

Protective Equiment

Outdoor

  • High-visibility clothing with the lowest class 2 must be worn on the upper body (high-visibility vest).
  • Safety shoes.
  • Helmet.

Indoor

  • On the upper body, it is recommended that clothing with high visibility or warning clothing is worn.
  • Safety shoes.
  • Helmet.

Please observe local area signs throughout the facility!
It’s permitted to remove reflective/warning vests when working in areas with risk of them getting caught

Chemicals
While corrective action is taking place (ex. lime stop) or when cleaning in the vicinity of materials causing air blown dust, use respiratory protection (mask).

Quartz
There are occurrences of quartz in the plant (at point of measure a quarter of the limit value has been noted). Respiratory protection (mask) must be used when cleaning or shoveling sand.
*For beard growth that prevents respiratory protection from fitting tightly, fan-fed respiratory protection must be used.

Grinding and cutting work in boiler 6
When working in boiler 6, if you have to grind or cut surfaces that are painted, respiratory protection is required because the paint contains isocyanates.

Contact with insulation
When working where you come into contact with insulation, wear respiratory protection, protective gloves and long-sleeved clothing.

Steam
Be aware of steam leakage in the system. Steam is not always visible at the leak, pay attention to strong whistling sounds and condensing steam.

Safety transformers
For all work in boilers, cisterns, tanks, etc., only power tools and lighting equipment connected to a 24 V protection transformer or an electric ball with its own circuit (230 V), are permitted.

Protective harness
This is to be used wherever there is a risk of injuries due to falls and where other satisfactory safety measures are not in place or possible to facilitate.

Safety rules

Alcohol and drugs
Alcoholic beverages or drugs may not be brought in or consumed within the facility.

It is strictly forbidden to enter the facilities under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Barriers
All personnel have the right to block off area to minimize the risk of accidents.
When blocking off an area use red/white tape or fences and notify the control room to communicate what area is blocked off.

The beginning and end of the work
Contact the control room before the work begins and after the work is completed so that the shutdown/ start-up is complete.

Shutdowns
Before action takes place in systems and objects, they must be secured. Work switches are broken and locked with padlocks, valves against pressurized systems are closed and locked with chain and padlocks, pneumatic and hydraulic systems are depressurized.

Visitors
Only let visitors in if they are known or if you know who is receiving visitors.
Visitors can wait by the sofas in the entrance if you know that the visitor receiver is on his way to receive the visitor.

Fire doors / doors / gates
They should be kept closed due to fire risk and the prevention of spreading dust and cold.

Fire protection equipment / Evacuation routes
Must never be blocked. Don’t forget to close fire doors!

Photography, film and sound recording
There is a ban on photography, film and sound recording within Lidköping Energi’s properties, both indoors and outdoors. The ban exists for confidentiality reasons and to protect personal integrity. If photography, filming or sound recording needs to take place in order to plan or carry out the contractor’s work, this must be approved and handled according to current rules by the client.

Lost equipment
If equipment is lost or damaged it must be reported to the person in charge at LEAB when there is a risk of operational problems.

Gas
Gas cylinders must be stored in the correct place when not in use.

Punching and sealing
Drilling holes in walls or joists must be done with care, especially in fire cell separation and load-bearing parts. Plugging of recesses and drilling must be carried out so that the heat, moisture, fire, sound function and appearance of the existing construction do not change. Perforations in fire cell boundaries must not be open longer than necessary. Spaces with open perforations in fire cell boundaries must be kept under supervision.

Penetrations for installations in fire cell-separating constructions are fire-sealed using a method and product in the same fire class as the broken-through construction. Holes are provisionally repaired as soon as possible with, for example, sealing pads until the permanent sealing is carried out.

Chemicals and oils
Only chemicals that are on LEAB approved list may be used unless otherwise agreed upon.

Passing through A- och B-hall
When the mills in the A- and B-halls are in operation it is prohibited to be in those areas.
A red light is flashing at the doors which indicates that it’s forbidden to enter.

Risk observations, incidents and accidents
LEAB´s staff, contractors and hired staff MUST report identified risks or accidents to their contact person or personnel in the control room.
Dont’t forget to report whenever something from the first aid  boards has been used!

Smoking
Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outdoors.

A total smoking ban applies to all premises.

Scaffolding
Scaffolding may only be built, rebuilt and removed by designated professionals.

Cleaning
Clean up after the work is finished. This also applies between shifts.
The contractor must have good control over his equipment and must not leave it visible and accessible to unauthorized persons.

The following work requires an internal permit to be performed:

  • ”Hot work” (welding, grinding etc.)
  • Working in enclosed spaces
  • Driving forklifts/loaders etc.
  • Operating cranes
  • Lifts

Traffic and parking

Max 15 km/h, applies to the entire facility!

Route
Driving direction for visiting traffic is marked via arrows on the ground.

Parking and setting up of vehicles
Within the area’s cordon off, parking is only permitted for ambulatory staff and then with a limited number of vehicles. Permission is obtained by the customer.

Vehicles must never be set up in such a way that they limit or prevent accessibility, emergency vehicles, escape routes or the like.

Cleaning
Trucks delivering garbage (fuel) should NEVER  clean them in the yard. Cleaning must take place inside the offload building.

Consequences for offenses against order and protection rules

1st offense
Verbal commitment and written notice to the company.
Lidköping Energi AB has the right to reject a person who does not comply or who has committed gross misconduct from the workplace.

2nd offense
Verbal commitment and written notice to the company. Applies regardless of whether it is the same or another person from the company who breaks the rules in case of repeated offences.
Lidköping Energi AB has the right to reject a person who does not comply or who has committed gross misconduct from the workplace, as well as the right to request new personnel or cancel the agreement.

We hereby certify that we/I have read information about Lidköping Energi’s local regulations on the environment and safety regulations and are responsible for complying with these regarding our own work.

In order to leave Lidköping Energi after completed work, the client must give the go-ahead.
